After recording and mixing for so many years, what I love most about producing is that it keeps me on my toes. No two artists or sessions are the same, and that’s what makes every production so interesting and fascinating. I love helping artists find just the right approach and process for their projects so their musical vision is fully realized. I particularly enjoy producing projects on which I also play drums. Even if I’m not drumming, just applying a drummer’s perspective to production allows all the rhythms and dynamics of percussion to fully incorporate and tie all the elements of a session together in an extremely expressive and musical way that translates as skill and emotion and magic to listeners.
